Resident Impact Assessments

Islington Council is committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect. This means providing equal access to our services and ensuring that positive impacts are shared across our diverse community.

Resident Impact Assessments are carried out by the council when there is a new or changed policy, procedure, function, service activity or financial decision. They help us to identify the potential impact of changes on people with ‘protected characteristics’ (i.e. age, sex, race, sexual orientation, religion and belief etc) in relation to the three aims of the Public Sector Equality Duty (eliminating discrimination, advancing equality and fostering good relations).
